IMO, no real surprises in that interview though... this whole thing the past few months and that interview has merely been Bettman using Winnipeg to play politics, as he always has.
Well, yeah, I never doubted that part. (Although it would have been tremendously funny if he had picked right then and there to be obvious, like if halfway during the interview he just turned to Scott Oake and blurted out "I hate everybody in your god damn town".)
But oh, man, was it ever obvious that Scott just wanted to smack Bettman during that interview. My position, I think, is pretty straightforward: when Bettman started in with his "well y'know nobody has ever been confirmed as a potential owner" schtick and Scott Oake's jaw literally dropped at the display unfolding in front of him, I think he should have just rolled along with his initial reaction and one-punched him. Just KTFO, two hits, him hitting Bettman and Bettman hitting the floor. Give a straight answer or get a straight left, them's the options!
